About Me

Hello, I am Sarah Schmidt, a 2019 Mechanical Engineering Graduate from Northeastern University. I have experience working on analysis of various Pratt & Whitney engines, worked on designing probes at a start up in Berlin, Germany, and worked at a start up in Boston that is developing an underwater autonomous vehicle for storage tank inspections. While at Northeastern I was an active member of Northeastern American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). For my senior capstone project I worked with a team to develop a mechanism to de-spin a rocket for AIAA's Project Kármán, a rocket that will travel to the Von Kármán line, 100 km above the surface of the Earth. I am also an avid swimmer, was a part of the Northeastern Women's Club Water Polo team, participated in the Northeastern Pep Band, and I enjoy photography, traveling, and have studied abroad in Thessaloniki, Greece.

I graduated in May of 2020 from the University of Notre Dame with a Master of Science as a part of the Engineering, Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Excellence Masters Program (ESTEEM). While completing my degree I was a member of the Notre Dame Marching Band, University Band, Hockey Band, Trumpet and Trombone Choirs, Band Ambassadors, as well as the Women's Club Water Polo Team, University of Notre Dame Bagpipe Band, and Notre Dame Rocket Team (NDRT).
